Sea Of Crete
The Sea of Crete is a part of the Mediterranean Sea and also the southern extension of the Aegean Sea.
It's bordered in the northwest by the Greek Island of Kythria and the Ionian Sea; in the south by the island of Crete and the Mediterranean Sea; in the north by the Cyclades Islands, and in the east by the islands of Karpathos and Kasos.
Just off the coastline of northeastern Crete the sea reaches a maximum depth of near 3,294 m (10,000 ft.)
Iraklio (Heraklion) is its chief port, and from there regional ferries and hydrofoils serve all of the Greek Isles.
